The Pinnacle

Similar to a professional practice, our design studio integrated midterm concepts to complete this design-build project. The Pinnacle is a memorial playground designed for Lexington Friends Place Montessori School. The playground was created in memory of Sarah, a parent of a former student, who passed away unexpectedly. A studio of 30 interior design and architecture students collaborated over a semester to design a playground that was both safe and stimulating for children while honoring Sarah’s memory. The three primary design elements represent Sarah, her husband, and their son.
